Katarina Cattermole

Kia ora and congratulations on your pregnancy. My name is Katarina and I have lived in Kāpiti for 19 years. I have two children, one of which was born overseas. After receiving exceptional care for my second child here, in New Zealand, I was inspired to study midwifery.
I have been a midwife for 8 years and have worked in tertiary care, yet I have had good relationships with Lead Maternity Carers who inspired me to make the change and move into LMC role. It always amazes me how powerful women can be with the right support, which is what I had experienced too. Pregnancy and childbirth can be an overwhelming time. My role is to help you through this journey so you can make the right decisions for you and your baby.
I take a small caseload and work with fantastic colleagues at Nīkau Midwives in Kapiti. I provide antenatal care in clinic, postnatal care at your home. Birthing at home, Paraparaumu Maternity Unit, and Wellington Hospital.
